MOSCOW/SEOUL, Mar 5 (PRIME) -- South Korean electronics maker Samsung has suspended supplies of all its goods, including phones and chips, to Russia amid the current geopolitical situation, Bloomberg and the company said on Saturday.
The company is monitoring the situation closely. Sources told Bloomberg that the suspension will apply to all the products of the company, including chips, smartphones, and household appliances.
A Samsung representative confirmed to PRIME that the company paused deliveries “due to the current geopolitical events.”
“We continue to follow this complicated situation actively to decide on our further steps,” the representative said.
South Korean news agency Yonhap reported that the company was physically unable to deliver goods to Russia. Samsung’s factories in Russia have no problems now unless supplies are disturbed for a longer period.
“The company will resume work in the regular mode soon. Now we are looking for solutions to resume our deliveries to Russia. As to servicing, it is provided fully,” Samsung said.
Mobile-Review Editor-in-Chief Eldar Murtazin said that Samsung will resume deliveries once the ruble stabilizes.
“The situation has not changed. It is exactly the same as on the first day. No company will deliver here unless the ruble stabilizes,” he said.
